Next Generation Scientist
Our Next Generation Scientist Program in cooperation with the University of Basel offers internships to talented and motivated scientists from low- and middle-income countries. The three-month program, which takes place at the Novartis research site in Basel, aims to promote both the scientific and professional development of the researchers.
Under the guidance of Novartis mentors, participants work on a mutually agreed scientific or clinical research project and participate in a leadership development program to strengthen their communication and decision-making skills. As part of research projects, participants use the latest methods and work with leading experts in the respective fields with the aim of later applying what they have learned in their countries. An important element of the programs is that both sides learn from each other: scientists and physicians from Novartis and the University of Basel benefit from the program by developing a deeper understanding of the world of science and healthcare in other countries.
Pharmacokinetic Sciences Internship Program
Launch your career in Pharmacokinetic Sciences (PKS), where cutting‑edge PK and translational science guide better decisions. Partner across NIBR and GDD to integrate ADME, bioanalytics, and advanced modeling to optimize dosing and maximize the likelihood of clinical success.
Regulatory Affairs Summer Internship
Students will join the Regulatory Affairs CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing Controls department and provide support to global regulatory teams, under guidance. Main responsibilities will involve assisting with technical regulatory submissions for both developmental and commercial programs of Novartis brands. Along with learning about current health authority trends.
Analytics Graduate Summer Fellowship (Beacon of Hope)
Fellows will conduct drug development clinical analysis and will be matched with analytics mentors to gain first-hand exposure to analytic problems in drug development.
Biomedical Research Summer Fellowship (Beacon of Hope)
This program provides drug discovery, the science of therapeutics and clinical research training opportunities for early graduate (master’s or doctoral) students and/or medical students who have a strong interest in the biomedical field. Fellows are carefully matched with BR scientific mentors to gain first-hand exposure to BR's innovative approaches to research, science & technology.
Analytics AQS Summer Internship
TInterns will work on quantitative projects (statistics, data science/machine learning, or pharmacometrics) under the guidance of experienced quantitative scientists. Various real-world problems will give interns hands-on exposure to the early and late phases of drug development across different therapeutic areas. Interns will also attend seminars and other enrichment and learning activities to enhance their understanding of the drug development process.
Clinical Development Summer Internship
The Clinical Development (CD) Intern will support the global CD team with their clinical development portfolio, specifically supporting the Clinical Development Directors (CDD) and Clinical Development Medical Directors (CDMD) in their work on the cross-functional clinical trial team (CTT) as assigned. The CD Intern will build skills and experience in CD by participating in a number of specific trainings and by successfully contributing to CD activities in one or more projects in diverse teams.
